Henry E. "Buz" Hahn, III

January 16, 1933 - December 12, 2025

Henry “Buz” Emil Hahn III, 92, of Deland, Florida, passed away peacefully into the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 12, 2025.  Buz was born on January 16,1933, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as the son of Henry Hahn Jr. and Alice Muth Hahn.  He had four siblings:  brothers Robert and Donald who proceeded Buz in passing and sisters Luan and Nancy who live in Wisconsin.

Buz graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee in 1951, and went to further his education at the University of Wisconsin.  He was drafted into the Army in 1953.  He was a field wireman and was stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington, and later served in Alaska.  After two years, he transferred to the Army Reserves and completing his service in 1961.

Buz was married to his loving wife, Donna Stauff Hahn, for 67 years and had two children: Susan Hahn Gattle and Bonnie Hahn Catlett.  He has nine grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.  Buz made his home in Florida from 1963 to passing.

Buz was a man of deep faith in God and was assured of his place in heaven among the saints.  He read his Bible and fervently prayed for his family every day.  He loved his family deeply.  He spent quality time with them attending numerous events with his children and grandchildren. 

Buz set an example of being a Godly man with a long history of church service.  In Fort Lauderdale, he served as a well-loved Sunday School Superintendent, enjoyed sharing his faith utilizing the Evangelism Explosion program, and enjoyed fellowship with other believers in groups such as the Mariners Bible Study. In recent years, he was an active member in the  Orange City Community Group, affectionately known as the “Cake Club”.

Buz was passionate for cars his entire life.  He made his career in the automotive field, buying, selling, racing, and owning automobile service stations. His final business was Buz Hahn’s Garage, an eight-bay auto repair business in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  His workplace gave him the opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed.  When not operating Buz Hahn’s Garage, Buz liked to build, fine tune, and race cars.  He was a long-time member in the Sports Car Club of America, the Porsche Club of America, the Daytona Antique Auto Racing Association, and The Crankin A’s Model A Restorers Club, Inc.  Buz enjoyed racing for Milwaukee-based Leader Card Racers, as well as racing midgets and sprint cars on dirt tracks across Florida and the Midwest.
