CRANKIN A’S MODEL A RESTORER CLUB, INC. MEETING MINUTES - JUNE 27, 2026 The June Meeting of the Crankin A’s Model A Restorers Club, Inc. was opened by Vice President, Kevin Duffy, at 10:01 AM on June 27, 2026, at the Pioneer Art Settlement, 176 Lightfoot Lane, Barberville, FL., 32105. There were 24 members present.
It was requested that the minutes of the last meeting be accepted as reported on our Web site: https://www.crankinasfl.com. A motion was made and accepted.
In the absence of our Treasurer, Ed Hart, Kim Ziffra read his report, and it will be available upon request. We have 70 current members.
Sunshine Report: Karen Widajewski sent a Get Well card to Kim Ziffra and a Sympathy Card to Barbara Dlubac.
Kevin read Question of the Day from Cleo Banfi. Henry Ford was born 163 years ago and had an eighth-grade education plus a bookkeeping course. Thomas Edison was his best friend throughout his life.
Paul Howes reported on The Project Car. It is slowly progressing with Gary Michael’s supervision.
Web Site Report was given by Kevin. He is working on a new service for the sale of members’ cars. None listed so far.
Pioneer Art Settlement Report was given by Paul Howes. We were shown the newly proposed bathrooms: Two locations instead of one: One south of our Garage convenient for our usage and second up by the Gate we manage for events. Hopefully ready for use in the not-too-distant future.
Danny showed a car shirt he had made with his car pictured on the back. Very well-liked by all - Jan Shepler brought up the fact that the Club already decided on the color for Club shirts and emblem and purchased for Club events – that the new design could be individually purchased for personal use.
A Service for Joe Dlubac will be on Saturday. July 25, 2026, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 998 Father Donlon Dr., New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 at 11 AM. Wear your Blue Crankin A’s Shirts and it would be nice to have some Model A’s there. Arrangements are being made for lunch in NSB afterward. TBA
Our July Monthly Meeting will be held on the following Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Saturday, July 4 – Lake Helen Fourth of July Parade. Meet at 9 AM on Summit Ave., north of Main Street for lineup. Decorate car for 250th Birthday – they will have space reserved for us – lunch at Dustin’s.
Nov. 6 – 8 9AM to 4PM Annual Model A Days and Car Show in conjunction with the Pioneer Art Settlement Fall Country Jamboree/50th Anniversary. Volunteers needed and Flyers available to pass out and post. We supply Settlement with much needed big support allowing us to have Garage and car shows, and Ray Nadenik spent hours helping with cooking and Sandy with the baking goods. They need help and other staff also.
November Tour - Winery at Lake Seneca Farms in Eustis - Steve Anderson will plan as we all agreed it would be enjoyed.
August 1st 10AM – July Monthly Meeting at Pioneer Art Settlement – Lunch to follow TBA
Kim reported that our Argentine friend. Cristian Delaporte will be attending the Old Car Festival at Greenfield Village, MI, Sept. 12 & 13, 2026.
Gary Michael would like us to have our own Chili Cookoff for lunch after our August Meeting with the winner representing the Crankin A’s in the Settlement’s Fire & Ice Day on September 5th. Notification from all Club members needs to be done in July & August to get a nice turnout for a fun competition. The Settlement prize awards are rumored to be quite ample.

September 18 – 19, Model A Ford Foundation Model A Days at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan. Paul Shinn will do a video at the event and will be interviewing Kevin there.
Nov. 6 – 8, 9AM – 4 PM Annual Model A Days & Car Show in conjunction with Pioneer Art Settlement Fall Country Jamboree/ 50th Anniversary.

Lunch after meeting will be at Drifters on SR40 at the St John’s River Bridge in Astor. Meeting adjourned at 10:39 AM – 50/50 won by Gary Michael who has chosen Lake Beresford Yacht Club, 1961 Hontoon Rd., Deland, Fl. for our July 9th Monthly Dinner.
